Let's make a clone of the channel that you want to use as the source. The setup is slightly different in this method. This effect is an internal controller that can be used to automate targets in response to the Peak Controller's volume envelope. The other way to sidechain in FL Studio is to use the Peak Controller. This form of ducking works great in EDM tracks to really get the pump from your kick. You'll find a nice middle ground of where you want it to sit. For example, a threshold set to 0, and a high ratio will give you quite a drastic sidechaining effect. Also, try using different Threshold ratio, and knee amounts.
Try with a long attack and short release, and then switch it and listen to it with a short attack and long release. Im using 9 mang, hmmmm okay so let me make sure i got this right, if i send all my synths to one send, put a limiter on the send, then go to the sub channel and sidechain them, then back to the limiter and the rest of what you had said, correct? thanks alot for the info dude, now im confused on which to do, use the peak controller linked to the volume, or this.To customize how this sidechain works you can tweak the attack and release times for different ducking effects. which will achieve a better flow/follow with my synths? Sound confusing but it's really easy after you do it a couple of times, i always use it if i want to sidechain. Then lower the Threshold and adjust the ratio knob to get the sidechain you want. Then go back on fruity limiter, press the COMP button under LIMIT, to the left of it you'll see sidechain appear, right click and select your kick or sub (it will be the name of the mixer channel you put it under). Put fruity limiter on the mixer channel of whatever you want to sidechain, then go on the mixer channel of your kick or sub and right click on the mixer channel of the thing you want to sidechain, then select 'Sidechain to this track' Shekul wrote:Which FL Studio you using? FL Studio 9 or above you can easily sidechain with Fruity Limiter.
